Leather care tips

Good leather can last for decades when it is looked after. A few simple habits keep it soft, strong and good looking.

Clean gently

Wipe dust off with a dry, soft cloth. For marks, use a slightly damp cloth and let the leather dry naturally. Never use hot water or a hair dryer, because heat makes leather stiff and cracked.

Condition twice a year

Apply a small amount of leather conditioner with a clean cloth and rub it in with circles. This replaces natural oils and keeps the surface supple.

Store it well

Keep leather in a cool, dry place away from direct sun. Use a cotton bag, not plastic, so the leather can breathe. Stuff bags with paper to keep their shape.
